ABOUT CHRISTOPHER

Meet Christopher Lord, a master of the modern, hybrid orchestral style that effortlessly weaves narrative themes with musical tones. Originally trained in jazz piano, his journey into the captivating realm of composition began during his time at the esteemed Berklee College of Music. There, he combined his passion for jazz chord structures with melodic pop songs as part of his band, Downbeat, shaping a unique approach to composition that revolved around a central melodic core while incorporating diverse musical idioms.

Growing up surrounded by movie legends and immersed in the world of animation due to his grandfather, the legendary Ward Kimball, Christopher's dual loves for music and film harmoniously intertwined. It was only natural for him to explore the shared ground between these passions.

Throughout his impressive career, Christopher has lent his musical expertise to over a hundred TV episodes for major networks such as ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. Collaborating alongside composer Robert Duncan, he has contributed to the musical magic behind CBS's reboot of the hit series S.W.A.T., NBC's beloved science fiction favorite, Timeless, and Netflix's smash hit The Night Agent. His talents also graced the music of ABC's How To Get Away With Murder and FOX's gritty drama Gang Related.

Christopher's journey as an orchestrator on notable studio projects like Evan Almighty, My Best Friend's Girl, Hotel For Dogs, Thick as Thieves, and the animated feature 9, exposed him to a vast array of musical styles, enriching his artistic palette with a multi-cultural and open-minded aesthetic.

A true sonic explorer, Christopher consistently pushes the boundaries of possibility, with video games providing an especially receptive platform for his experimental side. Notably, his evocative synth and percussion compositions left an indelible mark on Transformers 2 (VG) and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (VG). His artistry can also be experienced in the captivating films Cold Light of Day (starring Bruce Willis and Henry Cavill) and The Raven (starring John Cusack), where his rhythmic and tonal landscapes amplify the cinematic experience.

Beyond his prowess as a composer, Christopher is a tech-savvy enthusiast, seamlessly merging technology and music. His versatility as a recording engineer complements his deep understanding of recording techniques, making every project he undertakes a seamless fusion of art and technology.

However, above all else, it is Christopher's pure and unbridled passion for music that serves as the driving force behind his artistic endeavors. His unwavering dedication to the craft infuses every composition with a vibrant energy that continues to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.
